Lethbridge Employee Base Up More Than 150% Since 2005 Opening LETHBRIDGE, ALBERTA, July 19 /CNW/ - As a result of continuous growth and its recent acquisition of Genworth Financial's Employee Benefits Group, the U.S. division of Sun Life Financial (NYSE: SLF, TSX: SLF) is enhancing its recruiting efforts to fully staff its office in Lethbridge, Alberta. Sun Life Financial established its Lethbridge location in February 2005 to support the growth of the company's three main lines of business in the U.S. - Annuities, Individual and Group Insurance. Since opening the facility with 112 people, its job functions have broadened to include Customer Service and Operations support positions, as well as management positions, and now employs 280. On May 31, 2007 Sun Life Financial finalized its acquisition of Genworth Financial's U.S. Employee Benefits Group, which propelled Sun Life Financial into a Top 10 provider of group insurance in the United States, and created additional need for customer service and operations support. "The Lethbridge facility was built with the infrastructure and space needed to support the growth of Sun Life Financial's U.S. businesses, and it's exciting to see an increase in employment opportunities for the Lethbridge community."
