Sun Life Global Investments announces cancellation of proposed fund merger

TORONTO, Sept. 15, 2017 /CNW/ - Sun Life Global Investments announced today that it will no longer proceed with the merger of Sun Life MFS Canadian Equity Fund and Sun Life MFS Canadian Equity Value Fund into Sun Life MFS Canadian Equity Growth Fund, previously announced on July 24, 2017.

Accordingly, Sun Life MFS Canadian Equity Fund and Sun Life MFS Canadian Equity Value Fund will be re-opened to new investors effective September 15, 2017, after having been capped on July 24, 2017.

The name and investment strategies of Sun Life MFS Canadian Equity Class will remain unchanged. The underlying fund for Sun Life MFS Canadian Equity Class will also remain unchanged.

Sun Life Global Investments periodically reviews and adjusts its mutual fund lineup with the aim of generating long-term value for clients.
