Sun Life Financial assists residents affected by flooding in Quebec

A donation of $25,000 from Sun Life Financial to the Canadian Red Cross, Quebec Division, will go to help disaster victims throughout the province

MONTREAL, May 30, 2011 /CNW/ - Sun Life Financial has made a donation of $25,000 to the Canadian Red Cross, Quebec Division, to help residents who have been forced to leave their homes due to the severe flooding that has ravaged Quebec, particularly the Montérégie region.

The floods have had a huge impact on clients, employees and advisors of Sun Life Financial living in the affected areas. "I wish to express our sympathy to the victims in flood-ravaged areas of Quebec," said Isabelle Hudon, President, Sun Life Financial, Quebec. "During these difficult times, our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by this disaster."

Sun Life Financial, in cooperation with the Canadian Red Cross, Quebec Division, is providing financial assistance to aid the victims of the flooding. The company's donation will be used to meet the critical needs of affected residents in terms of disaster recovery. These needs can include housing, food, basic repairs to a principal residence, children's needs and personal services.
