Sun Life Appoints Benjamin Deng as President, Asia Asset Management

Benjamin Deng will lead Sun Life’s asset management capabilities across Asia, strengthening the company’s investment management strategy to deliver strong performance for clients.

HONG KONG – (18 December 2024) – Sun Life today announced the appointment of Benjamin Deng as President, Asia Asset Management, effective January 1.

In this newly created role, Benjamin will lead Sun Life’s asset management function to support the growth of Sun Life’s insurance and asset management businesses in Asia. As President of Asia Asset Management, he will lead the company’s investment management strategy and operations and drive strategic initiatives to build Sun Life’s position as a leading asset manager in the region.

Benjamin will join Sun Life’s Asia Executive Team and will report directly to Manjit Singh, President of Sun Life Asia and Steve Peacher, Executive Chair of SLC Management, Sun Life’s institutional asset management business.

He joins Sun Life from Ping An Insurance where he was the Group Chief Investment Officer, responsible for group-wide insurance investment management with US$740 billion in AUM. Prior to that, he held roles as Group Chief Investment Officer at China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd and Group Head of Investment Solutions and Derivatives at AIA.
